We understand that everything may not be so smooth sailing on your journey to completing your degree. Incidents happen in people’s lives that you cannot plan or prepare for. Therefore, it is essential that students report any circumstances that they feel may have an adverse effect on their academic performance or attendance to their personal tutor at the time of their occurrence. It is also important to ensure that all other members of staff concerned are aware of any such circumstances which may affect their academic progress. This will enable the University to support you in the best way they can go forward.
It is essential that students do the above as well as submit a ‘Special Circumstances’ request in the Request Centre on MyBangor as soon as possible.
Completing the special circumstances request will allow the examining boards to take into account any special circumstances which might have affected a student’s performance in examinations or any other assessment.
If you are unsure of anything, please contact your personal tutor to discuss special circumstances in the first instance.
