Treborth Botanic Garden is a vital part of Bangor University, allowing students to immerse themselves in nature and learn from experts in botany. Treborth also serves as a community beacon, being a host to multiple events, societies and communities throughout the year. The gardens additionally support an enormous diversity of plant and animal wildlife, many of which are threatened and have high conservation and biodiversity value.
However, due to a lack of funding, staff of Treborth are overworked and under-supported by the University. Without the dedicated staff of Treborth, the garden would rapidly deteriorate and lose value for both education and conservation. I am calling on the University to provide more support, staff and funding for this amazing institue or risk losing it completely.
