Guides and Scouts (BUGS)

  • Bugs logo new modified

BUGS is a great place to be if you want to continue scouting/guiding in university or if you want to give it a go for the very first time. BUGS meet every week, taking part in planned meetings in which we do a range of activities from following badge work to walking to crafts, BUGS do it all. BUGS is a fantastic place to start if you want to get some volunteer work whilst in Bangor. With links to scouts and guide group in the local area, volunteer work is easy to get, with the added benefit of being able to gain qualifications such as First Aid. For those wanting to volunteer with local groups, we have an annual Find a Role Night in October where people have the opportunity to meet local leaders who need help, or you can email bugs@undebbangor.com Also, as a member of BUGS you'll become a member of SSAGO (Student Scout and Guides Organisation), this is a national Scouting/guiding organisation that plan events from SSAGO goes to spoons to rallies where people up and down the country come together to camp and learn skills. BUGS also runs camps and days away throughout the year.

Meeting Times:

Thursdays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in room 1 of the activities hub
