For over 200 years the Marquess of Anglesey’s Column had been a source of enjoyment for local people and a regular holiday destination for visitors to Anglesey. The Anglesey Column Trust, a registered charity and company, was established in 2007.

Our Objective: ‘The advancement of the education of the public by making accessible to the public, and the preservation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of, the Napoleonic War Memorial, known as the Marquess of Anglesey’s Column on the Isle of Anglesey’.

Here at Anglesey column our mission is to preserve and celebrate the historical significance of the Anglesey Column Monument, ensuring that it continues to stand as a beacon of our rich heritage. Through educational programs, guided tours, and community engagement, we strive to connect people with our past, fostering a sense of pride and preserving this iconic landmark for generations to come. After the closure of the Column in 2014, the Committee sought to restore and reopen the Column and to ensure its care and maintenance in the long term. Construction work was completed at the end of 2023, and the Column is now once again able to welcome visitors.

Am dros 200 mlynedd mae’r Twr Marcwis wedi bod yn ffynhonell o fwynhad i bobl lleol ac yn attyniad gwyliau rheolaidd i ymwelwyr ag Ynys Môn. Mae’r Anglesey Column Trust yn elusen a chwmni a sefydlwyd yn 2007.

Ein amcan: ‘Yw addysgu’r cyhoedd gan gwneud y safle yn hygyrch i’r cyhoedd, ac y cadwedigaeth, cynnal a chadw, a’r atgyweirio o’r colofn rhyfel Napoleon, a elwir y Tŵr Marcwis ar Ynys Môn’.

Yma yn Twr Marcwis, ein nod yw cadw a dathlu arwyddocâd hanesyddol y golofn, gan sicrhau ei bod yn parhau i sefyll fel esiampl o'n treftadaeth gyfoethog. Trwy cynnal rhaglenni addysgol a teithiau dan arweiniad, a drwy ennyn diddordeb y gymuned; rydym yn ymdrechu i gysylltu pobl â'n gorffennol a meithrin ymdeimlad o falchder I warchod y tirnod eiconig hwn am genedlaethau i ddod. Ar ôl cau yn 2014, ceisiodd y pwyllgor adfer ac ailagor y golofn ac sicrhau ei ofal a'i gynhaliaeth yn y tymor hir. Cwblhawyd y gwaith adeiladu yn ddiwedd 2023, ac mae'r golofn bellach ar agor I groesawu ymwelwyr unwaith eto.
