I've run into this issue recently when trying to book a study room to during the day for a small group of ~5 students from my course.
I am unsure whether students or only faculty staff can book rooms via the MyBangor website, as the descriptive text addresses both groups but about different things. The MyBangor website is difficult to navigate you cannot search by room requirements e.g. building, group size and projector Y/N, only by a specific room of which you have to look up the size and facilities, etc.
I had an excellent experience recently at Aberystwyth University Library, where the library had dedicated student study rooms, separate from lecture/ timetable rooms, and you could book online, at the reception desk or by simply checking in on an electronic display outside the door. Very easy and accessible, great for peer-to-peer revision sessions.
